Meet The Owner – Nel Harroche
Dog Walker, House Sitter, Pet Lover!
Caring for animals is my life’s work and calling. I decided to start Nel’s Puppy Love after a long journey of finding my passion. Nothing has ever brought me happiness like spending quality time with animals and I doubt that will ever change.
It started one day, when my mom’s friend who knew I worked with animals, asked me to watch her three dogs for a week. I enjoyed it so much, I thought, “I should start my own business doing this, something I absolutely love!” Jessica has now become a regular customer and I watch her babies at least every couple months when she goes on vacation.
My first real experience working with dog’s was at a grooming salon. I prepped dogs of all ages and sizes to get groomed. The preparation process included bathing, brushing and drying the dogs. I also trimmed their nails, took them outside for potty breaks, and booked appointments.
I’ve also worked at several doggie daycares, where I cared for both dogs and cats. Undertaking everything along the lines of feeding, watering, medicating, playing with, settling disputes and giving all kinds of cuddles and love to pets. I’m truly happiest when getting my hands dirty, (literally)! Getting to spend my days with animals is the best thing I could ever ask for; I love each and every bit of it. Every day I looked forward to going into work just for the hugs, kisses and snuggles I got from all the babies; it was the definition of endless love.
Meet My Pack
Tessa and Morty
I was 11 when I got Tessa (left). I was getting out of the car when my mom handed me a Christmas stocking, and in it was an 8-week-old dark chocolate doodle…golden-doodle. I squealed with delight as I had wanted a puppy for the longest time.
Morty (right) and his dad joined our family a few years ago and have made our pack even bigger and better. Tessa was thrilled to have Morty to play with all day, every day. Now we have two flavors of “doodles,” a golden and labrador. These two are completely obsessed with each other.
Nugget and Alice
The first dog that was all mine, was Nugget (left). He was on the kill list at a local shelter. I saw him online and instantly fell in love. I knew I had to rescue him, and went to get him the same day. He fit right in with the family that now included Tessa and Morty (a labradoodle). 6 months later I walked in the door with a kitten. Her name is Alice (right) and the dogs all love her. It’s quite a wonderful and unique pack I get to live with and love every single day!
